Attempt to enable the latent mail merge facility.  It looks like if
a list has a 'merge_fields' setting, those fields will be selected from
the DB and substituted (via [field_name] strings in the message body).
The main trick is going to be adding some code to save/update this data
when a subscriber joins, and maybe having some validation.
