Added 'getItem()' method to RecordType, which should make Specialists a
little simpler (since they won't have to retrieve from a TypeManager and
then check the return type.  This is just the beginning of the needed API
expansion, however, since this makes it now impossible to add items to a
SimpleTypeManager without using '_getFromCache' directly.
